Indian Passenger vehicle sales registered 5% growth

Indian Cars sales increase by 10% in November 2014

Indian passenger vehicle registered a minor growth of 5% in November 214. Total 212,438 passenger vehicle sold in November 2014 compare to 201,520 passenger vehicles (Cars, SUV/MUV & Van) in November 2013. Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra & Mahindra, Honda and Ford are top five selling brand in India. Honda city has played important role to keep it in top five selling brand. Mahindra and Mahindra is market leader in Multi Utility vehicle. Bolero is market leader in this segment and Mahindra’s flag ship model. Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan has started special promotion to increase sales in December 2014.

Indian car sales increased by 10%, SUV/MUV sales declined by 7% and Van segment vehicle sales up by 2%. Some new compact SUV new product range should introduce into market to address this segment. There is huge potential in this segment.
Cars sales in India
Indian car segment registered 5% growth after festive season in November 2014. If we see complete segment share then  car is having more than 70% share, UV/MUV is the second largest segment with 19% and van is the smallest segment with 7%. Right product mix at the right product position could increase this segment presence.
Maruti Suzuki is market leader with 82,306 units in November 2014. Hyundai is at number two with 35,488 units sold. Honda has registered incredible growth in November 13. With the launch of Tata Zest, Tata motors successful increase in sales. Nissan and Renault need to think to sale its product through single window and make its price more competitive. By having this approach, both companies can reduce their cost of sales. Skoda is doing heavy promotion but still it needs to convert into sales. Skoda overall group performance is impressive. Skoda was considered first premium cars.  We are expecting that with some new product launch, Mahindra and Mahindra would have a better numbers.
Top 10 car manufactures in India
In car segment, Maruti kept its number one position and increase its sales number. Maruti is having strong grip in small car segment. CIAZ has been launched to take some share in Sedan segment. Tata ZEST give support to give better performance compare to November 2013. Tata Motors market share has increased from 5.5 to 6.6%. Hyundai,Volkswagen, General Motors, Ford, Nissan, Skoda, Fiat, Mahindra & Maindra has lost market share.
Top car market leaders in India
In SUV/MUV, Mahindra is market leader with its right product mix, sales strategy and application of the vehicle. There is almost double gap between first and second manufactures. Some new launches are expected in this segment. Total sales of SUV/MUV segment declined by 7% compare to November 2013. 41,218 units sold in Nov 2014 compare to 44,244 units sold in November 2013.
Mahindra & Mahindra has lost market share of around 4%. In SUV/MUV segment Ford, Renault, GM,Tata,, Nissan has lost their market share.

This small segment compare to other two segment Car and SUV/MUV segment. Marut sold around 8,021 vehicle, Tata Motors sold around1,864 vehicle. Drastic dropped in Tata Motors sales. Mahindra”s sales also come down. Maruti became more stronger in this segment.

Indian Automobile Industry Overview November 2014

There are some positive trend has been noticed in past few months. Especially oil price has come down more than couple of time. Also some positive outlook of GDP growth which effect on almost every sectors. There are no major changes in Indian credit policy. Some price rise expected in coming months due to cost of sales has increased. To increase sale in December which is normally slow for Industry, started to give gifts and discount in different formats to attract customers.
The overall sales of automobiles in India stood at 1,603,292 units in November 2014 and has recorded a growth of 5% as against November 2013 where 1,526,438 vehicle were sold. Production has registered 12% growth and Export registered 32% impressive growth with 334,410 vehicle in November 2014.
Indian Truck, Bus, car, Two wheeler
Market was expecting some positive growth in every segment. In November 2014, Two Wheeler, Commercial Vehicle and Three wheeler sales in India is positive. Two Wheeler with 5%, Passenger vehicle which includes cars also with 5%, Commercial Vehicle (Truck and Bus) which is one of the parameter of growth of overall country economy registered 9% growth and Three wheeler which is relatively based on local market factors registered 3% growth.
The Segment share of all segment is almost flat and there are no major shift or changes happened in November 2014. In Commercial Vehicle Volvo has recently launch new Truck range in premium segment.
Indian Automobile sales analysis
However festive season was going on in last two months in India but production of Automobile segment has increased from 1,773,678 to 1,9994,248 with 12% growth. Three wheeler segment has registered 42% growth due to heavy demand for export. Other segment like Two Wheeler, Commercial vehicle and Passenger cars has registered growth in double digit. Except Two wheeler, segment share of Passenger Vehicle, Commercial vehicle and Three wheeler has increased. Some primary sales of festive season could be one of the reason. There are some excess billing from manufactures to dealers in Two Wheeler.
Automobile Production in India
In export, Two wheeler is heading in all automotive segment in India. Two Wheeler export stood at 228,510 with 29% growth compare to November 2013. Passenger vehicle, Commercial Vehicle, Three wheeler export stood at 56,384, 7,179 and 334,410 vehicle.
Segment share of two wheeler has increases from 11.6% to 14.3% almost 3% jumped.

Mixed Sales performance by Toyota, Ford and Chevrolet India

Toyota Cars, sold 12,556 units in domestic market in October 2014 with a de growth of 5%. The company sold 13,162 units in the October 2013. The export units stood at 1,160 units during October 2014. Total sales stood at 13,716 units in October 2014 with decline of 12%.

Ford Company recorded 3%% growth in sales during the month of October 2014, with total sales of 15,395 units in the month of October 2014 against 14,935 units recorded in the month of October 2013.
